The first step in the SMARTER method of goal setting is to get highly specific about what you intend to achieve. You have to ensure that it's measurable so that it can be tracked, but you also have to put a great deal of detail into what it is you intend to achieve. You can't just say you want to be rich. It doesn't work that way.
Goals can't just be specific. The second step for achieving your goals is to ensure that they're meaningful. We will always do more to achieve a goal that has a deep-rooted meaning to us than we will to achieve something that's superficial. So, if you want to have a million dollar net worth because of the status it affords, you can forget about your chances for success.
Instead, if you have money goals, and you associate a deep enough meaning to them, then they're more likely to be achieved. You can't just want things for the sake of wanting them. You can't just want to lose weight or make more money because those are goals you've always wanted. Why have you always wanted them?
Goals must be time-bound in order to be achievable. When do you plan on achieving this goal? Don't just say you want to get rich in the future or make a million dollars in the next few years. You have to pick a date on the calendar if you're serious about achieving that goal.
Select an actual date on the calendar for your specific goal own to the very day of the week. When your goal is specific and measurable, it's trackable. When you give it a real date on the calendar, you can break it down into monthly and weekly goals. This way, you can chart your progress to determine how far or close you are to achieving that goal.
When goals are time-bound, they can be evaluated, allowing you to track your progress along the way. The more meticulous you track your goals, the more likely you'll be to follow through. Pick a system for tracking your goals, and do it every single day. This will give you a barometer towards success.
The bottom line should be clear. May it be to get a good job or provide best coaching in mathematics statistics, actuarial science, data science, python or start a new company.
Listen carefully and respond in a positively fashion. When you love what you do or want to do for a living, you'll be naturally inspired to reach your career goals quicker. Find something you are interested in or enjoy, research the possibilities and make your plan of action
We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. We do not yet know just how it will unfold, but one thing is clear: the response to it must be integrated and comprehensive, involving all stakeholders of the global polity, from the public and private sectors to academia and civil society.
The First Industrial Revolution used water and steam power to mechanize production. The Second used electric power to create mass production. The Third used electronics and information technology to automate production. Now a Fourth Industrial Revolution is building on the Third, the digital revolution that has been occurring since the middle of the last century. It is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres.
The world is going through a workplace revolution that will bring a seismic shift in the way humans work alongside machines and algorithms, according to new research by WEF. By 2025 more than half of all current workplace tasks will be performed by machines as opposed to 29% today. Such a transformation will have a profound effect on the global labour force. However, in terms of overall numbers of new jobs the outlook is positive, with 133 million new jobs expected to be created by 2022 compared to 75 million that will be displaced. Based on a survey of chief human resources officers and top strategy executives from companies across 12 industries and 20 developed and emerging economies (which collectively account for 70% of global GDP), the report finds that 54% of employees of large companies would need significant re- and up-skilling in order to fully harness the growth opportunities offered by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality, the list goes on. These are considered important elements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that blurs the lines between physical, digital, and biological. Central to this lies data and analytics. So, how can African organisations benefit from this dynamic new environment?
The ability to utilise and analyse data is going to be one of the biggest drivers of business in the future. This enables a better understanding of one’s business and customer requirements. Forming part of this journey is the shift towards a more mobile-centric landscape that sees people expecting to have access to real-time information for informed decision-making. Countries in Africa are in a strong position to benefit from this as they have long been mobile-first marketplaces.
Given how data is a representation of information or performance of a business at a specific moment in time, analysing it can reveal a wealth of insights. These allow for a greater understanding of what is happening in the business and how to improve its performance by taking cognisance of internal and external factors that could impact it.
Any business that can effectively analyse its data will have a massive advantage over its competitors as it will be able to adapt to changing trends and customer demands faster than those that do not have the same insights. So students from mathematics statistics, actuarial science background can join best coaching to make a great career. The First Industrial Revolution used water and steam power to mechanize production.
